The Batman: Arkham Series developers Rocksteady Studios and their publisher WB Games Montréal were rumoured to be working on a Superman game for a long time. Just last year concept art and ideas for a Superman project were making the rounds. Now an ex-Wb Montréal employee has gained attention for including some concept art that contains Superman in his portfolio.

User @tatlinsky spotted the concept art on Joël Dos Reis Viegas’s website.

This information doesn’t come from anything strictly Superman however. As Joël Dos Reis Viegas’s concept art page featuring the image is on his time working on the Batman: Arkham games.

“I’ve created a bunch of character designs and concept Art for both BATMAN ARKHAM ORIGINS and ARKHAM KNIGHT games. Warner Games Montreal contracted me a couple of times to integrate the dev team and flesh out original designs directly at their studio.”

Much of the art on the page was used and retooled for the Batman games. With this being the only piece of art relating to something Superman. Thus bringing attention to it as somewhat out of place.

With the constant rumours of a Superman game at Rocksteady Studios. This immediately brought eyes back to the idea. However as mentioned, this art comes from a page on the Batman: Arkham series. So it’s unclear whether or not players could have seen Batman and Superman team up in those games.

The only news from Rocksteady Studios recently has been about them working from home, which they mentioned in a Tweet.

This doesn’t indicate what they are working on next, despite many hoping for it to be a new Batman: Arkham game.

Due to the vague nature of the above image, it’s equally possible Superman was going to be in any other WB Montréal game, or his own.
