“Tune in to the very first episode of State of Play, where we’ll share new updates and announcements for PS4 and PS VR software.” – Sony’s PlayStation Blog.
Here we are, having to accept Sony’s departure from the E3 arena. So far both Nintendo and Microsoft have been having their own news events, although they have stayed for E3. EA has also said they will not be attending E3, with much speculation going around as to why. Theories as to why Sony has chosen not to attend have primarily centred around the possibility of a new PlayStation console. We cannot comment on the validity of any rumors or speculation though.
State of Play will be Sony’s newest platform, bringing “updates and announcements from the world of PlayStation.” The first showing is set to air live this “Monday, March 25th at 2:00 P.M. Pacific Time.” It will be a recurring event happening throughout the year, giving everyone further updates and announcements! You can watch live via Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, or FaceBook, and watch on VOD shortly after airing.
Microsoft has its own news event called “Inside Xbox,” featuring what one would expect, while also offering opinions and insight. Nintendo themselves offer “Nintendo Direct,” which gives news and updates on Nintendo software and hardware.
We will see you this Monday as we cover State of Play! See you soon!
