Rocksteady Urges Fans to Steer Clear of Suicide Squad Leaks

“It is disheartening to witness the premature sharing of details before the game’s official release.”

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has faced challenges on its journey to launch. In April, the game’s release was pushed to February next year, following a lukewarm response from audiences during its State-of-Play presentation two months earlier. A more recent in-depth exploration of the story and gameplay hinted at greater potential, but the internet has since been inundated with leaks divulging crucial information about the game.

While refraining from delving into the specifics of the leaks, if you wish to approach Suicide Squad with a clean slate, it’s advisable to stop reading now. The leaks started pouring in after a closed alpha tech test in November, unveiling details about the game’s opening, emote dances, and specifics regarding its skill trees.

Subsequently, dataminers have combed through the files accessible from the test, extracting additional information about Rocksteady’s upcoming looter-shooter. This includes surprise cameos from other DC universe characters, with an audio file purportedly from a cutscene providing insights into the fate of Batman from the Arkham series within the game.

In response to this torrent of leaks, Rocksteady released a statement, expressing, “We eagerly anticipate players experiencing the story we’ve crafted in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League when the game launches in the new year. We hope everyone can enjoy the game and explore every narrative moment for themselves.

The statement continues, “It is disheartening to see details being shared ahead of the game’s release, so we can only encourage you to try to avoid spoilers where you can. And please refrain from diminishing the enjoyment of other players by posting spoilers.”

While it was already known that Kevin Conroy returned to voice Batman for Suicide Squad, and the use of the Arkham theme in the Batman reveal trailer strongly implied the character’s transformation into evil by the DC villain Brainiac.

Whatever unfolds in Suicide Squad when it debuts in February, it appears unlikely to be the concluding DC-centric game from Rocksteady. On Threads, DC’s James Gunn was asked if Suicide Squad would mark the end of Rocksteady’s Arkhamverse, to which Gunn responded, “No plans of it being the last.” Although this post was subsequently removed from the platform, images of the exchange persist online.
