Now, Osborn is resolute in utilizing his corporation for positive ends, safeguarding the citizens of New York as the benevolent Gold Goblin. Peter Parker finds himself as Osborn’s right-hand ally, simultaneously keeping a watchful eye on his former adversary and reaping the benefits of Oscorp’s cutting-edge technology.
Tragically, Peter’s burgeoning rapport with Osborn takes a dire turn in issue #32. Osborn becomes a target of the Goblin Queen and Kraven the Hunter. The latter is determined to validate himself by triumphing over Spider-Man’s ultimate adversary. However, ending Osborn’s life isn’t sufficient; the restoration of the Green Goblin’s essence is imperative. With the aid of the Goblin Queen, Kraven channels Osborn’s disembodied sins into a spear, which he employs to pierce Osborn and trigger his transformation back into the Green Goblin.
As customary, Spider-Man intervenes, disrupting Kraven’s machinations. In a fateful twist, Spidey intercepts the spear, absorbing the entirety of Osborn’s malevolence into his own soul. The Green Goblin resurfaces, but this time, he resides within the very body of Peter Parker. The irony is palpable…
This revelation sets the stage for an enthralling new narrative. Spider-Man becomes the hunter, pursuing Kraven, while Osborn grapples with the responsibility of rescuing the man he regards as a son. The cover of The Amazing Spider-Man #33 tantalizingly hints at Spidey’s return to his black suit, conveniently aligning with the impending launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with a focus on Venom for the PlayStation 5.
