Unbelievable Performance at an Unbeatable Price: Thrustmaster T128 Racing Wheel Review

When it comes to budget racing wheels, the Thrustmaster T128 defies expectations with its outstanding performance, priced at just $150. While it’s not without its flaws, this racing wheel proves to be the top choice for those on a tight budget, providing an excellent entry point into the world of serious racing games.

Thrustmaster T128 (PlayStation version) | Pedals included | $199.99 $149.99 at Amazon (save $50)

This deal offers incredible value for a racing wheel that stands out as the best in its class for budget-conscious gamers. It’s not only a great bargain but also a gateway to more immersive racing experiences.

You can spend as much as you like on a sim racing setup, but going big isn’t a prerequisite, especially for beginners. The Thrustmaster T128 proves that you can enjoy quality racing without breaking the bank. While it may be considered basic, this budget champion boasts the same Hybrid Drive System as its larger counterpart, the T248, albeit with less power. However, the force feedback it delivers surpasses most cheap wheels and even outshines our previous budget pick, the TMX.

The robust force feedback of the T128 enhances the steering experience by providing more resistance through turns, resulting in more accurate control. Surprisingly, I found the wheel feel(â„¢) of the Thrustmaster lineup superior to the pricier G923 from Logitech during my T128 review.

Despite its budget-friendly nature, the T128 does have its drawbacks. The plastic shifters on the rear of the wheel feel somewhat cheap, especially when compared to the T248. However, in my testing, I never missed a shift, prioritizing reliability over aesthetics. The pedals on the T128 are another weak point—they are basic and made mostly of plastic. Although they lack the quality of the T3PM pedals found on the T248, they are acceptable given the overall cost.

While the T128 may have a couple of downsides, it remains an incredibly affordable yet genuinely satisfactory racing wheel. Considering the limited options in this price range, the pedals and plastic construction can be forgiven. What truly matters is the exceptional feedback and accuracy provided by the wheel itself. For those looking to dive into more serious racing games without breaking the bank, the Thrustmaster T128 is an unbeatable choice.

The Xbox version is also available at a discounted price of $149.99, making it an attractive option for PC users who can use either version.
