Bloober Team, the developer behind the remake of Konami’s Silent Hill 2, is taking a faithful approach to the original game while also modernizing it for a contemporary audience. In an interview with Dread XP, the company’s chief marketing officer, Anna Jasińska, reassured fans that the development team is committed to maintaining the “distinct, visceral atmosphere” of the original game while updating outdated gameplay mechanics and graphics.
Jasińska said that the team is taking a “safe approach” to changes and is only making adjustments where necessary due to the passage of time. She emphasized that the team is “faithfully sticking to the traditional story canon” while also updating the gameplay and graphics.
The remake will include an over-the-shoulder camera and new challenges, as well as updated sound design. While these changes have been announced, it is unclear at this time what other updates will be made to the game. No release date has been announced for the Silent Hill 2 Remake.
