The Last of Us: Part 1 on PC will Cost $20 Less than Playstation Version

The PC version will be $49.99 vs. $69.99 for the PS5.

The Last of Us: Part I is a very successful remake of among Sony’s finest games. However, upon launch, one thing left a bad taste in the mouths of its fans: the asking cost. The PS5 remake costs $69.99/ ₤ 69.99, quickly becoming an industry standard. It’s pretty darn steep and left a sour aftertaste on what should’ve been a simple release.

Things have complicated a little more now that the PC version has been dated. It’s coming on 3rd March 2023, and you can pre-order it on Steam and Legendary Games Shop. Fans quickly realized something, however– the game is simply $49.99/ ₤ 49.99, an entire 20 notes less than the PS5 version.

This is good news for those who will be purchasing and playing the PC port, but it’s a bit of a kick in the pants for those who forked over the 70 smackers. Many would argue the remake should not have actually cost the premium in the first place, so they might prefer to pick up the port at a (relatively) cheaper price.

At the time of writing, Returnal has also been validated for PC; however no cost has been announced yet. It’ll be interesting to see if that likewise comes under the MSRP of the PS5 variation.
