Rockstar Commemorates the 10th Anniversary of GTA V, but GTA 6 Reveal Remains Elusive

On Sunday, September 17, Grand Theft Auto V celebrated its remarkable 10th anniversary, and Rockstar Games took the opportunity to express their gratitude to fans for a decade of unwavering support. However, despite the excitement, Rockstar did not unveil any details or teasers regarding the highly anticipated GTA 6. While expectations were never officially set for such an announcement, fans couldn’t help but hope for it.

In their anniversary message, Rockstar stated, “We would like to thank you, our players, for your incredible support over the years. This amazing community is the reason GTAV has thrived across multiple console generations and given us the opportunity to grow and update GTA Online with new features and content over these past 10 years, and your support is truly humbling.”

Rockstar added, “A massive thank you to anyone who has ever played, streamed, roleplayed, created, or shared from the world of Los Santos and Blaine County—here’s to many more adventures together!”

Grand Theft Auto V stands as one of the best-selling games of all time, with over 185 million units shipped across various platforms. Initially released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, the game made its way to PS4 and Xbox One in 2014, followed by a PC release in 2015. Notably, the game was never released on the Nintendo Switch.

The enduring popularity of GTA V can be attributed in large part to its GTA Online multiplayer mode, which maintains a lively and thriving player base. This consistently generates significant revenue for Rockstar and Take-Two, with CEO Strauss Zelnick referring to GTA Online as a “gift that keeps on giving” in terms of income.

To celebrate GTA V’s 10th anniversary, Rockstar has introduced a range of in-game items and activities in GTA Online for the week. For more details on the anniversary plans, you can explore further.

Although Rockstar is actively developing the next installment in the GTA series, it has yet to make an official announcement. Substantial leaks have indicated that the game might be set in a rendition of Vice City, akin to Miami, and could feature multiple protagonists, similar to GTA V. Speculations, based on Take-Two’s financial reports, suggest a potential launch window of 2024 or 2025 for GTA VI, but concrete information remains elusive.

“I think that’s the challenge that the folks at Rockstar face every time that there is a new iteration of Grand Theft Auto. It needs to be something you’ve never seen before,” Zelnick recently remarked. “And it needs to reflect the feeling that we have about Grand Theft Auto— that’s a big challenge for the team. Rockstar’s answer is seek perfection. Seek nothing short of perfection, and we’ll get there.”

Rumors regarding Grand Theft Auto VI have been abundant. One intriguing rumor suggests that the game may feature a Fortnite-style evolving map, allowing Rockstar to regularly modify and refresh GTA 6’s world map, akin to the dynamic changes seen in live-service games.
