Baldur’s Gate 3 Release and Character Customization
Baldur’s Gate 3, developed by Larian Studios, is set to be released on August 3 for PC, with a PlayStation 5 version coming in September. During a recent showcase by the developers, several mechanics of the upcoming RPG were revealed. One interesting highlight from the showcase is the ability to customize the genitals of your character during the character creation process. This feature has become fairly common in RPGs, with games like Cyberpunk 2077 also offering similar options. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in early access since 2020 and is finally getting a full release next month. The release date for the Xbox Series X|S version is yet to be announced.
Customizing Your Character’s Genitals
Larian Studios is taking a bold approach with Baldur’s Gate 3, allowing players to customize the genital part of their characters. This feature was briefly shown during a live stream called Panel From Hell. It’s worth noting that the developers didn’t explicitly highlight this feature, leaving it to the player’s discretion to explore on their own. The “Genitals” option will be available for customization for every class in the game. Additionally, the developers have stated that the class system in Baldur’s Gate 3 is incredibly deep, with 12 main classes and 46 sub-classes for players to choose from.
A Comprehensive Character Customization System
Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a vast array of options for customizing your character’s appearance. In addition to the “Genitals” option, players can also modify parameters such as “Maturity,” “Freckle Quantity,” “Freckle Intensity,” and “Vitiligo Pigmentation.” The extensive character customizer in Baldur’s Gate 3 showcases the meticulous efforts put in by Larian Studios. From what we have seen in the Panel From Hell showcase, it appears to be one of the most advanced character modification systems in any AAA title.
In-Game Visibility and Romance Options
It’s important to note that it’s unclear whether players will actually see the intimate parts of their characters in-game. In Cyberpunk 2077, for example, players can only visualize their character’s genitals in the customization menu and not during gameplay. Baldur’s Gate 3 offers different romance options, including some unconventional ones. During the live stream, a Druid transformed into a bear to display an unusual romantic encounter.
Release Details
Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available on August 3 for PC users through platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, and Nvidia GeForce Now. A PlayStation 5 version is also in development, set to release in September. While no concrete release date has been announced for the Xbox Series X|S version, it is confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will eventually make its way to Xbox platforms.
