EA Says “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor isn’t Performing to our Standards”

The force was not strong with the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and EA has admitted as much. While the game received praise on the PS5, PC players were left struggling with numerous issues, with (currently) 63% of Steam reviews being negative. Fans of the franchise eagerly awaited its release, only to be disappointed with its poor performance.

EA is now trying to address these issues quickly and has stated that it’s aware the game isn’t performing to its standards on some PCs. The company has pledged to fix the problem, but warns that there is no single solution for PC performance.

The Last of Us Part I also suffered from similar issues, a game that was delayed to meet quality standards but ultimately received “mostly negative” reviews on Steam. It’s frustrating to see such high-profile titles struggling with performance issues on PC.

Jedi: Survivor’s problems seem particularly bad on the Steam Deck, with some players reporting it’s a “hot mess” on that platform. It’s a shame given that Jedi: Fallen Order, the previous title in the series, ran well on the Steam Deck and was used as a marketing title for the platform. EA has not mentioned the Steam Deck in their note about fixes, leaving fans unsure whether they will address this problem.

In a bid to lay the blame elsewhere, EA has hinted that the performance issues could be due to players using Windows 10 instead of Windows 11. However, this remains unconfirmed.

It’s easy to see why fans would be disappointed with the game’s PC performance issues. While the game’s storyline and characters were engaging, the poor performance was a significant drawback. It’s reassuring to see that EA is taking the issue seriously and working on a solution.

The PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor had a lot of potential but has left many fans feeling the force wasn’t with them. Here’s hoping EA can find a solution soon, so fans can experience the game as it was intended to be played.
