Bloober Team CEO: 10 Million Copies Sold Is a “Realistic” Range for Us

Polish game studio, Bloober Team, is confident that its upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake could reach a sales goal of 10 million copies, according to CEO Piotr Babieno. The studio has set this goal based on its market research and historical sales of its previous games.

In an interview with Bankier, Babieno shared that Bloober Team games have a sales ceiling of 2 million copies, while the survival horror genre has set the bar higher at several million copies. He believes that the studio is now in a position to achieve the 10 million copies sales goal.

However, some may argue that this sales goal is overly optimistic. Silent Hill 2 is a beloved classic, but it’s still unclear whether a remake will have the same impact as the original. It’s also uncertain whether there’s a large enough audience to support such a high sales target.

Despite this, the studio’s previous game, The Medium, has turned a profit covering the development and marketing costs. But, the sales figures have not been officially released. The question remains, will Silent Hill 2 remake be able to surpass the success of their previous games?

Babieno noted that the Silent Hill 2 remake is “technically finished,” and it’s now up to Konami to decide on the release date. Fans are eagerly waiting for more news on the remake.

Update: It’s important to note that there has been some confusion surrounding Bloober Team’s sales goal of 10 million copies. The original interview with Babieno suggests that the studio isn’t expecting to sell 10 million copies of the Silent Hill 2 remake. Instead, it’s a broader goal for the studio to achieve with their dip into the survival horror genre. Babieno noted that “You can assume that 10 million copies sold is within a range that will be realistic for us soon.” We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
