Bethesda is Not Ready for a Starfield Showcase

The prospect of a forthcoming Starfield showcase had us all brimming with excitement, yet it seems we may have to bide our time, as the esteemed game developer behind Fallout and Skyrim, Bethesda, is reportedly knee-deep in a “sorting stuff” phase. With the enigmatic release date of the RPG game shrouded in mystery, don’t hold your breath for additional intel anytime soon.

Earlier this year, Bethesda and Microsoft jointly hosted an event to unveil the Redfall release date, while a separate unveiling is on the horizon solely dedicated to Starfield. The open-world game’s release is slated for the first half of 2023, leading one to infer that the event is nigh. Alas, new reports from Bethesda indicate that they are still preoccupied with “sorting stuff” before divulging any Starfield-related news.

The Bethesda community manager responsible for the Starfield channel on the official Discord server, with the handle ‘VaultOfDaedalus,’ shed some light on the highly-anticipated showcase event. The update states: “

We’ll have more info to share on the showcase when it’s ready to be, still sorting stuff out. I know that’s not the answer you want, but nothing specific is being withheld.

In light of this, it appears that the planning for the Starfield showcase is still a work in progress. The absence of any specific information suggests that Bethesda may still be unable to confirm a date for the event, leaving fans in the dark regarding any updates on the release of the game.

We all crave a release date for Starfield on Steam and Game Pass, but these things inevitably require time. As we patiently wait, there are a few things fans can do to stay ahead of the game. For example, why not prepare for the game’s launch by creating your Starfield character in advance? This will help ensure that you are ready to explore the vast reaches of space from the get-go.

Alternatively, you could take a leisurely stroll through all the Starfield cities, or take time to familiarize yourself with all the Starfield traits, enabling you to plan your build strategy well ahead of the game’s launch.

At any rate, after the SNAFU that was Fallout 76, combined with what is starting to feel like a development hell, I think we are all a bit skeptical of Bethesda’s ability to deliver on Starfield.
