Assassin’s Creed Mirage Unveils Authentic Arabic Voiceover in New Gamescom Trailer

Prepare to immerse yourself in the rich world of Assassin’s Creed Mirage as Ubisoft debuts an exhilarating new trailer at Gamescom. This fresh glimpse not only offers a visual feast for the eyes but also treats players to their first auditory encounter with the game’s “full Arabic voiceover.” Get ready to be captivated by Mirage’s authentic linguistic experience, available across all editions of the game when it releases on October 12.

While Ubisoft had previously announced that Mirage, a captivating journey set in 9th century Baghdad, would feature an Arabic dub back in September 2022, this marks the inaugural occasion (as far as my knowledge extends) where players get to witness it in action. Ubisoft’s commitment to this localization endeavor echoes the precedent set by past entries in the series. For instance, Assassin’s Creed 2 incorporated an Italian dub, and Assassin’s Creed Unity could be enjoyed in French. This dedication to cultural authenticity is truly commendable.

As for the quality of the Arabic translation, I cannot offer a personal assessment. However, delving into a game set in its native linguistic landscape—with the aid of subtitles, of course—can undoubtedly enhance the experience for non-native speakers. Especially in titles that emphasize narrative, this practice can be incredibly rewarding. As an example, playing the Metro series in Russian significantly deepens the immersion. To demonstrate this, we even prepared a guide on how to switch languages when Metro Exodus launched.

The upcoming installment of Assassin’s Creed will follow the saga of Basim Ibn Is’haq, who allies with the Hidden Ones to dismantle the Order of the Ancients and shatter their dominion over the city of Baghdad. This narrative unfolds 300 years prior to the events of the original Assassin’s Creed, promising a nostalgic journey in terms of gameplay. Unlike the expansive open worlds featured in recent iterations, Mirage will present a more intricately woven environment, reinvigorating the series’ emphasis on stealth, parkour, and covert elimination.

Conclusion

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is poised for its grand debut on October 5, gracing PC enthusiasts via the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store. While it’s likely to make its way to Steam eventually, history suggests a longer wait may be in store. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, for instance, took two years before joining the Steam library. Get ready to be transported to the mystique of 9th century Baghdad and embark on a thrilling journey through Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
