Activision Executive Calls Out Sony’s Jim Ryan in Tensions Over Microsoft Acquisition

A storm is brewing in the world of gaming as tensions rise around the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. One executive in particular, Jim Ryan, has been called out for his opposition to the deal. The situation escalated when an Activision executive, Lulu Cheng Meservey, criticized Sony for its refusal to accept any offers from Microsoft that would make it an Xbox company. In response, Cheng put Ryan on display and revealed his desire to block the Activision acquisition.

Official information has been revealed about the meeting between Microsoft, Activision, and Sony before the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Sony has consistently opposed all offers made by Microsoft, and Cheng criticized the company for it. This time, however, she directed her criticism specifically towards Jim Ryan, the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Cheng shared a tweet about Sony’s denial of Microsoft’s commitments regarding Call of Duty, asking why. In response, she cited Ryan’s statement before the European Commission that he doesn’t want a new Call of Duty deal, he just wants to block the merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.

Lulu Cheng Meservey has exposed Jim Ryan and shown the reason why Sony has refused, and will continue to refuse, any offers or commitments from Microsoft. It is expected that Sony will rely on the Federal Trade Commission of the United States (FTC) to take the matter to court as a last resort. With no agreement between the two companies in sight, the situation remains tense.
