As part of the festivities celebrating Pokémon Day, The Pokémon Company and Nintendo have revealed Zarude, the newest mythical Pokémon coming to Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Classified as the Rogue Monkey Pokémon, Zarude is a dark/grass type Pokémon with the Leaf Guard ability. Its appearance resembles a cross between a monkey and a gremlin, with green vines wrapped around its arms and neck. According to the official Pokémon Sword and Shield website, “Zarude lives in a pack deep in the heart of dense forests. It treats anyone that isn’t a part of its pack with immediate hostility, attacking right away.”
Currently, the methods of how to obtain Zarude are unknown. However, The Pokémon Company have stated that more information will follow sometime in the future. While it is possible that this new Pokémon could become part of the Sword and Shield Expansion Pass that was announced earlier this year, it seems more likely that it will arrive in a separate free distribution like past mythical Pokémon.
