After months of anticipation from Mortal Kombat fans, NetherRealm Studios has at last revealed the final character in Mortal Kombat 11: Frost, a Human/Cyromancer from the Earth Realm.
She is a returning character, debuting as Sub-Zero’s apprentice in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and appearing in later games like Mortal Kombat (2011), Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and Mortal Kombat: Unchained.
As is tradition, Frost’s reveal trailer shows off one of the game’s vicious fatalities. Frost freezes Sub-Zero and then breaks him apart, leaving him with nothing but his brain and spinal cord. Fans have compared it to her fatal blow, which many thought was already too brutal. Frost’s reveal pleased many fans, and they praised NetherRealm Studios for her return. Sub-Zero was simultaneously mocked for being defeated by another Ice manipulator.
Along with the reveal trailer, the team at Kombat Kast livestreamed a gameplay breakdown of her abilities. Frost is seen using fighting techniques such as her Blade Spin, Glader Gaving, Core Discharge, and Arctic Barrage. These provide Frost with some glorious combinations that players will be trying their best to master. During the livestream, Kombat Kast had also revealed that she has “entirely new moves”, saying that “you can almost think of her as a new character”. With this addition to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, players will definitely have a great time fighting as her.
Mortal Kombat 11 released on the April 23 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
