THQ Nordic Announces Lineup for PAX East

THQ Nordic has announced their lineup of PAX East games on display. Some of them seem pretty promising!

THQ Nordic, the publisher that stemmed from the defunct THQ, has revealed their plans for the fast-approaching PAX East. They’ll have a booth right next to Blizzard in the main hall, where they’ll be showing off the following games:

  • Fade To Silence, which released in Early Access last year, is a “survival adventure”. It has a combat system similar to the Souls series, or perhaps For Honor. While the game’s foreboding, winter-y landscape seems impressive, it’s currently sitting at a “mixed” on the Steam review scale. Let’s hope this PAX demo shows some improvements.
  • Monster Jam Steel Titans is a monster truck simulator, where trucks jump ramps and perform tricks in a closed arena or stadium. It’s supposed to be a direct tie-in to the upcoming real-world Monster Jam Finals XX, and it will playable on the PAX show floor.
  • Aquanox is a submarine-piloting game that seems to take a lot of its thematic cues from the ever-popular Subnautica. Gameplay-wise, it’s a first-person shooter where you pilot your sub through the water, shooting down nearby opponents with an array of weapons. Aquanox was originally supposed to release in 2017, but has been pushed back to sometime this year.
  • Biomutant is a third-person action game where you control a tiny adorable fox-creature. You take down enemies with guns and swords as you explore the open-world. As far as we can tell, this is developer Experiment 101’s first game. Given that, the level of detail in the trailer animations thus far as very impressive. Steam tags it for a 2019 release date, but it doesn’t seem there are any announcements to back that up.

If you’re going to PAX and any of those titles pique your interest, drop by booth 18007 in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
