During EVO Japan 2019, Team Ninja made several announcements regarding Dead or Alive 6 including new characters, Season Pass content and a Deluxe Demo.
Team Ninja’s first announcement is the pre-launch of the Dead or Alive 6 Deluxe Demo running from Feb. 22 to Feb. 24 for both the PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscribers. The Deluxe Demo will have everything a fighting gamer needs to get into the main game starting off with being able to play as all 24 fighters available at launch. While you won’t be able to change into all their new costumes all their hairstyles and glasses (for you glasses fans) are available in the Deluxe Demo.
If that’s not enough, fighters looking forward to the main game can access most of the online and offline modes. That’s right, Tutorial, Command Training, Combo Challenge, Free Training and an introduction to the story mode will be available for those who want extra practice before launch. Though those who want a real head start can access online ranked and lobby matches to test their strength against players in online matches.
While Nyotengu is a pre-order bonus and Phase-4 is a Deluxe edition DLC, two more familiar characters will make an appearance through Season Pass 1. Much like in Tekken 7 with Geese Howard, DOA6 will have two King of Fighters characters join the fray. The first is everyone’s favorite and iconic Mai Shiranui who is also featured in Dead or Alive 5: Last Round. She will be available in June. The second character has yet to be revealed. It could be Terry Bogard, but he’s already in EX Fighting Layer so no promises. One can only hope that it’s Angel since her combo strings almost work perfectly for a DOA game. Whoever Team Ninja includes whether it’s Leona, Vice, or Shermie they’ll be announced later.
Other than two guest characters, Season Pass 1 will include 62 new character costumes which includes additional costumes for the two SNK fighters. The costume DLC goes as follows: DOA6 Happy Wedding Costumes Vol. 1 and 2, DOA6 New Costumes Set Vol. 1 and 2, and additional costumes for NiCO and Nyotengu. More interesting news is that all the Season Pass 1 content will be made available between March and June 2019.
