A host of new indie games has been announced for Nintendo Switch at this year’s PAX west. One of the most interesting additions among the new titles, however, is a follow up to smash 2010 hit Super Meat Boy. The platformer received great reviews from both critics and gamers and many believed a sequel to be long overdue.
The games mechanics and play style have been praised for a number of reasons. The difficulty is a key feature but care was taken by the developers to ensure the game felt fair at all times. The trailer for the sequel, titled Super Meat Boy Forever, looks likely to continue with more of the same. The art style and comic book violence all make a return in the title. With a 2018 release date, gamers will still have a while to wait.
Although the first game was well received, in an effort to keep things fresh developers have added some changes and updates to the game series. Most noticeably the game will now feature combat. The eponymous Meat Boy will now have to factor enemies into the already challenging platforming aspects of the title.
Super Meat Boy Forever will be released in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Have you seen the trailer? Which PAX West game are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments below.
