Nintendo will be livestreaming another video presentation this Wednesday – but it’s not a Nintendo Direct. Nope, it’s a Nindies showcase, showing some of the most promising Switch indie games this year. It’s set to go live on March 20, 9 AM Pacific Time Zone. Set your alarm clocks!
The last Nindies showcase to come from Nintendo happened last month, strangely only on their UK YouTube page. In it, we got surprise reveals like Steamworld Quest, CrossCode, and Goat Simulator.
These indie presentations have a reputation for showcasing some of the best indie games out there. Nintendo is very good at picking out some of the most ambitious projects, such as last year’s award-winning Celeste, and the recently-released Wargroove.
This strategy of filling the gaps in Nintendo’s release schedule with awesome indie games is incredibly smart. It keeps a constant stream of content coming to the platform, even when that content isn’t necessarily triple-A third or first-party exclusives.
If you’ve been waiting since Super Smash Bros Ultimate for another reason to pick up your Switch again, don’t miss this Nindies presentation. We don’t doubt that they’ll have loads of great titles coming in the next few months.
You can watch the livestream on Nintendo’s website, and their YouTube and Twitch channels when it broadcasts at 9 am PT this Wednesday. For more on Nintendo Switch and everything else video games, stay tuned to Culture of Gaming.
