Armored Core fans need not worry about the series being over.
Earlier today FROM Software, the developer well-known for the Souls series, held a live stream dedicated to Armored Core. They made it clear that the stream would not involve a new game announcement for the series. Its most recent title was released in 2013.
However, this didn’t stop them from reassuring fans on Twitter that the series isn’t quite done yet.
“Thank you for watching the Armored Core 20th Anniversary Music Special Broadcast! There is nothing we can announce now, but we don’t intend to end the AC series as it is, so we’d be happy if you could wait a little longer. Ever going forward, thanks for supporting FROM Software!”
They also went on to announce that they would be releasing a free dynamic theme based on the series for the PlayStation 4 some time soon.
Armored Core is a third-person, mech-based shooter. It began in 1997 with Armored Core on the Playstation 1. Hidetaka Miyazaki, president of FROM Software and lead developer of the Souls series, said earlier this year that he’d like to revisit it now that Dark Souls is well and truly over. There is no further information on an expected release date.
