Shiny Rayquaza Comes To Pokémon Go

The next Raid Boss event for Pokémon Go has been confirmed. Starting on July 31st, players will begin seeing Shiny Rayquaza in Raid Battles.

Niantic has recently revealed the newest pokémon coming to Raid Battles in Pokémon GoAs the Armored Mewtwo event closes, Shiny Rayquaza will begin to appear in its places beginning on July 31st at 1:00 PM PT, 4:00 PM ET, and 9:00 PM BST. The event will continue until September 2nd of the same time, leaving players with about a month to add this legendary pokémon to their collection.

While Rayquaza has been accessible as a Raid Boss in previous events, this will mark the first time that players can obtain its shiny form within the game. Unlike the regular variant, Shiny Rayquaza has black scales, making it very popular among Pokémon fans. To obtain this legend, players will have to defeat it in Five-Star Raid Battles. Once done so, players will have the opportunity to catch Rayquaza. Even then, not all battles will end with the shiny version.
