The completely factory sealed copy of Super Mario Bros for NES has collectors foaming at the mouth as it’s in absolutely mint condition. On top of that, it comes from one of the famous Mario title’s earliest print runs and still has its original hanging tab.

Starting with a mere $1 reserve, the game eventually went for a cool $30,100.44. The seller, an active trader for many years from Pennsylvania has confirmed, according to Kotaku, that the 30k purchase has been completed.

There are many examples of rare video games going for incredible sums of money. Such as the Nintendo World Championship 1990 cartridges approaching six-figures and Stadium Events, one of the rarest of games, a copy of which sold for $35k in 2015. However, it’s not very often you come across such an iconic game of this calibre that is sealed!

For many, this game is extra special, incredibly nostalgic and a genuine classic, but not a rare game by any means. Many loose copies of Super Mario Bros., or even complete boxed copies go for no more than $30 these days. The question is would this factory sealed gem be worth 30 thousand to you? How much would YOU be willing to pay? … Did I mention it’s sealed?
