Rocksteady has recently announced a physical release for The Batman Arkham Collection. The collection will include 3 of the 4 games in the series. Batman Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight. This is the second bundle of Arkham games that Rocksteady have released this generation, that doesn’t include Arkham Origins. Although Arkham Origins has received the second lowest Metacritic rating compared to the other entries, many fans still love it.
Batman Arkham Origins was developed by WB Games Montreal in 2013, the prequel has many connections to the Rocksteady trilogy, and although it is unconfirmed to be canon, presumably it is. So why isn’t it included in the collection? Neither WB Games or Rocksteady Games have published an official statement on the topic, so it is unknown. However, through speculation fans believe that the reason Arkham Origins isn’t included in the collection is that it isn’t apart of the overall story arc.
Rocksteady had confirmed that The Batman Arkham Collection will release in Europe. But it is unclear towards whether it will be available worldwide. The collection will also be available in a steelbook cover, and PS4 players will receive the exclusive Earth 2 Dark Knight skin. Rocksteady has also confirmed that European and International players who own Batman Arkham Knight separately will receive the skin on PS4 in January 2020. The collection will also include all of the DLC and skins from the trilogy.
The Batman Arkham Collection will release on the 6th of September 2019 on PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
