Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass News Coming June 2nd

Since its initial announcement, not much has been shared regarding the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass. However, it appears we will receive more information tomorrow on June 2nd.

The official Japanese Pokémon Twitter account announced that more information regarding the DLC will be shared tomorrow at 6:00 AM PT/9:00 AM ET/2:00 PM BST. Currently, no details regarding the contents or format of the news have been confirmed. However, it seems likely that a trailer will drop on Pokémon’s YouTube channel.

While we cannot confirm what we’ll see in tomorrow’s news, it feels safe to say that it will cover the introduction of new and old Pokémon as part of the expansion pass. A more concrete release date may also come, as part one of the pass has a current launch window this month.

The Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass consists of two parts: The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. Both will consist of new story scenarios and wild areas to explore, along with new legendary Pokémon and new Galarian forms. Old Pokémon that were unobtainable in the base games will also appear in the pass. This means that those who purchase the DLC can catch these Pokémon, while those who don’t can receive them through trades thanks to a patch releasing along with the pass. For more information, you can head over to our breakdown of all the known information we know so far.
