This year’s annual Pokémon Go Halloween event has finally been announced, and it seems to contain the biggest amount of content yet! Beginning on October 17th, the event will include new costumed Pokémon encounters, a new Legendary Pokémon, a new shiny Pokémon form, and new trainer outfits.
During the event, players will have the opportunity to catch Shiny Yamask for the first time. Not only that, but Niantic will also provide new trainer outfits, such as a Cubone hat, a Mimikyu bag, and a Pikachu onesie. More shadow Pokémon will also appear as part of the event. Players will have the opportunity to obtain shadow versions of the Pokémon below.
As usual, Ghost- and Dark-type Pokémon will see increased spawns during the event, along with double candy rewards. However, this year will also feature special costumed versions of the Kanto starters and Pikachu. Specifically, players will see Bulbasaur dressed as Shedinja, Charmander dressed as Cubone, Squirtle with a Yamask-top hat, and Pikachu dressed as Mimikyu. New Field and Special research missions will also become available to complete.
Finally, the Halloween event will introduce Darkrai in five-star Raid Battles. First appearing in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Darkrai is known to cause people to experience horrible nightmares, making it fit perfectly into the theme.
