The Planet of the Apes has seen a huge resurgence in popularity in recent years. The film reboots were a massive success and brought the film series to a new generation of fans. Following this success, the time is seemingly ripe for a Planet of the Apes video game. Whilst history tells us that video game adaptations are often dreadful, Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier could be different. The new studio responsible for the game has impressive credentials as they are a sub-division of the company that worked on the special effects of the films themselves.
A trailer with details on the game has been released, showing some of the graphics and gameplay elements we can expect once the game is completed. The game looks graphically impressive and a story to match. Set between the second and third Planet of the Apes films, the game will follow a small band of apes attempting to traverse human territory as winter sets in. A large portion of the narrative will be controlled by player choice, with Imaginati treating the game a lot like an interactive movie.
