Games I plan on buying for the Nintendo Switch in 2018 | Culture of Gaming

The Switch has had success so far and has a very strong library of games. So what do I plan to play on the Nintendo Switch for the remainder of 2018?

I have loved my Nintendo Switch so far and have enjoyed the games on the Nintendo Switch. The Switch has had success so far and has a very strong library of games that features The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and a great handful of ports and remasters have also arrived on the Nintendo Switch. I’m excited to see how the Nintendo Switch will do for the rest of 2018, and I expect to continue to see the great games continue to roll out the door. I look forward to trying some of these games rolling out the door and some games I plan on buying will be the first game I’ve played in the entire series.

So, what games do I plan on buying for my Switch in the remainder of 2018?

Torna Nintendo Switch

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna-The Golden Country

Torna-The Golden Country is an expansion pack for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I loved Xenoblade Chronicles 2 because of the rich story. Every single character interacted with each other well which created several enjoyable humorous moments that never felt forced. Conversations felt natural between characters. Watching everyone embark on their journey to Elysium allowed everything to flow naturally and created an enjoyable experience. It was enjoying watching the characters progress and grow throughout their journey and watching the characters defeat Torna, a very powerful group of blades and drivers.

The combat was extremely beautiful in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The combat required precise timing to execute higher leveled combos. This gave Xenoblade Chronicles 2 a rhythm-based feeling. Executing these combos felt achieving and rewarding and made the combat extremely engaging and addicting. My enjoyment of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be the main reason why I decide to purchase Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna-The Golden Country.

Vesperia for Nintendo Switch

Tale of Vesperia Definitive Edition

Tales of Vesperia was released on the Xbox 360 and was also released on the PlayStation 3 in 2009. The PlayStation 3 release, however, was a Japan only release. I have never played a Tales game; however, I own Tales of Berseria and Tales of Symphonia for the PC. Shame on me for never getting around to playing either of these games. I do plan on playing either Berseria or Symphonia before Vesperia gets released.

My friends have generally praised the Tales series and I’ve always heard great things about the Tales series. I have not played several JRPG games, however, after playing a ton of Xenoblade Chronicles I would love to give the Tales series a chance. I have enjoyed the combat in the Xenoblade games and have enjoyed the rich story in both Xenoblade Chronicle games. The environment in Vesperia looks extremely crisp in the trailer and the fighting mechanics look extremely promising for a JRPG. Hope that Tales of Vesperia will deliver and I am looking forward to giving the Tales series a chance.

Smash for Nintendo Switch

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. is a fun and addictive fighting game that involves knocking your favorite Nintendo characters off the stage. The franchise is well praised for having addicting fighting mechanics and for being a fun game to play with friends and family. Having played Super Smash Bros, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS, and Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U, I can say that I am very excited for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The best thing about Smash Bros. is the roster. The roster has consistently had a plethora of characters which creates a ton of variety. This allows players to experiment with new characters and try to master different combos. There are also several ways to execute your objective, knocking your opponent off the stage, like spiking your opponent, using a smash attack to knock your opponent off the stage, or foot stooling your opponent. I’m certain that every Switch owner is looking forward to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
