Night Trap is back!
Screaming Villains today released the complete remaster of 90’s FMV cult classic Night Trap. At the time of the games first release, US Senator Joe Lieberman called the game “disgusting.” Compared to some shining examples available to our youth today, however, the remake seems even more harmless than the first. Whilst Night Trap had a rocky start due to its controversial nature, it quickly became a cult classic. So much so that 25 years later, fan reaction has justified an anniversary edition. The remastered edition comes with a host of new features and upgrades. Players can experience the original with in-compressed video, along with a few new scenes and modes.
Despite the 25 year gap between the original and the remaster, the popularity of the game has seemingly increased. Physical copies of the game have completely sold out for PlayStation 4. Xbox One gamers have a while to wait to revisit the game as no official release date for an Xbox version has been given. Whilst critical response to the game was lack luster at the time, fans seem to have reacted well to this piece of 90s nostalgia.
