The Hunt Begins Early Next Year!

The hot news keeps trickling out of TGS 2017. Sony announced today the release date of Monster Hunter: World, coming out on Jan. 26, 2018 for Xbox One, and PS4. The trailer revealed a new monster known as Nergigante, and confirmed a worldwide release for the title.

Capcom announced the deluxe and collectors edition of the game.  The deluxe edition of Monster Hunter: World includes the Samurai Set armor, three additional gestures, two additional sticker sets, an additional face paint, and a hairstyle for your character. The collector’s edition comes with everything the deluxe edition offers and a Nergigante figure, a digital code for the original soundtrack, and the “Monster’s Design” art book.

Anime News Network describes the new entry as having, “an open world [game] that will no longer have the previous games’ loading screens in between areas and will thus no longer allow players to use zone transitions as safe zones. The game will have a “living ecosystem” that will allow players to use and destroy elements of the environment, and use monster behaviors against other monsters.”

Monster Hunter XX launched in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS on March 18, 2017, and the Nintendo Switch on Aug. 25, while Monster Hunter Stories will ship for the 3DS in Japan on Oct. 2016 and for the west sometime in the Fall.

Announced back at E3 2017, Monster Hunter: World is one of the most anticipated JRPG’s for next year.  The PC version of Monster Hunter World does not have a release yet.
