Legends of Runeterra-Coming to Mobile April 30th

Official Release Details

Legends of Runeterra is a free to play collectible card game based in the League of Legends universe. For those completely unfamiliar with the genre, the closest comparisons are games like Hearthstone or Magic the Gathering. The game is currently available on PC in open beta. With a stylish new launch trailer, RIOT announced Legends of Runeterra will officially launch on April 30th on iOS, Android, and PC. Check out that trailer below.

What’s New In The official Release?

Legends of Runeterra will get a few additions to the core game on April 30th. Approximately 120 cards will be added to the core game bringing the total to just over 400 cards. We don’t know what the cards will contain just yet, but RIOT stated they will make reveal announcements before the official launch. This is likely to include new champion card reveals.

Performance Lab® - Not all supplements are the same

For those already playing the game on PC, your progress will carry over if you decide to play on mobile, and cross play will be seamless between all platforms. A RIOT account is not necessary for mobile players. However, if you plan to play on both mobile and PC with cross play, you will need a RIOT account. New Legends of Runeterra Set Will Add 120 Cards and New Region

Ranked leagues will reset for the launch on April 30th as the beta season will come to an end. Each tier will drop a set amount of league points and will have to start their climb again with the official launch.

What Comes After Launch?

RIOT already does a lot of work to support their games, and Legends of Runeterra will be no different. RIOT has confirmed bi-weekly updates after launch and balance patches on a monthly rotation. A roadmap will be revealed after launch providing insight into how they plan on supporting the game further. The roadmap will likely include information about in game events, deck releases, and competitive leagues.

Legends of Runeterra is the second mobile title from RIOT. They recently released a mobile version of Team Fight Tactics (TFT). If TFT is any indication, Legends of Runeterra should run well on mobile platforms. The title has been well received from fans of the genre and is shaping up to be a strong contender for your attention.
