Tripwire Interactive’s cult favorite first-person shooter, Killing Floor 2, is heading to Xbox One on August 29 and Xbox One X when the console launches in November. Both versions of the game will cost $39.99 in stores, but this marks the franchise’s first appearance on the system, having already launched on PS4, PS4 Pro and PC.
Killing Floor 2 for the Xbox will include exclusive content such as the new Freezethrower, allowing players to encase the Zeds in liquid nitrogen. This weapon is included in the Survivalist perk and will also come with eight skins for the weapon.
Also being introduced exclusively to the Xbox One version is the Wasteland Armor cosmetic uniform, it will feature five different styles for players to choose from. Killing Floor 2 will include all of the DLC content packs and updates that were released for the PS4 and PC versions. Along with that are two weapons: HZ12 Shotgun and the Center-fire Lever Action Rifle.
The Xbox One X version of Killing Floor 2 is confirmed to support 4K visuals and the new Xbox streaming service Mixer. Killing Floor 2 was originally released on PC and PS4 back in November 18, 2016 and was met with favorable reviews from the community. It’s unclear if the Xbox One version of Killing Floor 2 will include the Summer events and weekly outbreaks.
The events are as follows:
August 1—Beefcake – Bigger they are, harder you fall.
In this outbreak, Zeds increase their health, size, and reach when they hit players or are affected by certain Zed abilities.
August 8—Boom – Zeds under pressure; may explode.
Maybe it was something they ate? Bad gas? Whatever it was, Zeds explode when killed in this outbreak.
Update: News has come out that Killing Floor 2 will not be running at native 4K when it launches on Xbox One X.
