Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most successful PlayStation 4 exclusives to date, having sold over 10 million copies since its release in February 2017. This summer, however, you will finally be able to play this record setting Action-RPG on your PC.
Earlier today, the official Steam page went live with a release date slated for “Summer 2020”. The Steam release will be the Complete Edition of Horizon Zero Dawn, including the base game as well as The Frozen Wilds DLC and other additional content. The price has not been listed, and you are unable to pre-purchase the game at this time; however, it can be added to your wishlist.
Concerns about Sony’s first party titles no longer being exclusive to the PlayStation platform have been rising in light of the announcement of this latest port. To reaffirm to the PlayStation fan base that this will not be a common occurrence with all first party titles Herman Hulst, the director of PlayStation Worldwide Studios, stated in an interview; “I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on.” He continued to say “to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC… We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware”.
