For Honor To Finally Add Dedicated Servers

For Honor is to set to see massive changes over the coming months, with the next few updates bringing new content and, more importantly, the long-awaited dedicated servers for multiplayer. Fans have been demanding dedicated servers since the game’s launch to hopefully fix the games numerous connection problems.

No solid date has yet to be given for the migration to dedicated servers, but they can be expected within the coming months along with the games 3rd and 4th competitive seasons; these seasons will bring a plethora of new content including new modes, four new heroes, new items, and much more. Season 3 is expected to kick off in August and last until November, followed by the fourth season in December up until the anniversary of For Honor‘s release in February 2018.

Here is hoping that the addition of dedicated servers alongside this mountain of new content can breathe some life into the game, as it has reportedly been bleeding active players month on month since release. Many players blame the instability of the servers as their reason for leaving the game. Until the transition takes place, Game Director Damien Kieken has assured players that there will still be a team making sure that the connections are stable enough to play without dedicated servers.

Ubisoft have provided a handy road map for the next two For Honor seasons, as pictured below, which gives us a much clearer idea of exactly what we’re getting and when we will be getting it.
