Upon release, players will get to combat magical calamities appearing in the Muggle world.  In an effort to keep the secret of the Wizarding world, players must contain beasts, artifacts, magical beings and memories.

Players can test their magic duelling skills at Fortresses.  These Fortresses contain foes such as Death Eaters and other magic-based beings that must be combated together in real-time.  The more dangerous the foe, the better the reward.  The only drawback is using strategic planning with other players who are a different class than your own to combat these high-level enemies.

In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, players have the choice to specialize in various classes.  These classes include Aurors, Magizoologists and even professors.  These classes have unique abilities specific to each choice.

Much like Pokemon Go, there are microtransactions in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Casting spells to progress in your quest will cost energy.  However, this energy can be collected from Inns, much like Pokestops on the map.  You may also collect ingredients to brew potions to replenish this expended energy.

According to Niantic, the game can be completely enjoyed without spending any real-world currency.  The in-app transactions are there to help speed up progression and make things easier for players.  This means Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is a completely free-to-play game.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has a Friday, June 21, 2019 release,  much sooner than anticipated.  Will you be logging in on day one to help keep the secrets of the Wizarding World? Or will you be sitting this one out like a common Muggle?
