Gwent’s First DLC is Crimson Curse, and it’s Vampire-Themed

Gwent, CD Projekt Red’s card game spin-off of The Witcher, is getting its first DLC expansion: Crimson Curse. As the trailer makes clear, Crimson Curse will have a gothic vampire setting, complete with a blood moon and a vampire named Dettlaff van der Eretein. Quite the name to pronounce! We’ll let the website’s description of Crimson Curse speak for itself:

“The Blood Moon is rising. This is a time of the Crimson Curse, a time of madness and despair. A dark ritual performed by a mighty higher vampire Dettlaff turns the moon blood red, corrupting the land and its inhabitants. No one is safe and there’s nowhere to run — new breeds of monsters are awaking from their slumber, thirsting for blood. Will you join Dettlaff in his quest for revenge and destruction or choose to fight back and protect the innocents?”

The pack contains more than 100 new cards, which include 14 faction cards per faction, as well as 30 neutral cards. These cards range from the poison-inducing Dryad Ranger, to the disgusting rodent Plumard. For more details on the expansion, be sure to check out the official website.
