Even Fortnite’s Battle Royale Mode Is Early Access – Culture of Gaming

Even Fortnite’s Battle Royale Mode Is Early Access

What the Bigger Threat?  The Storm? Or The Survivors themselves?

Do you like games like Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds or H1Z1? Do you wish they had fort building and destruction of said forts? Then developer Epic has made your dreams come true.

Fortnite Battle Royale seems eerily similar to PUBG at times. It even starts off the same way: With players jumping out of a plane onto an island to scavenge for weapons. One hundred players then fight to the death to become the last one standing. There are two distinct additions, however: building and destruction.

Guns glow a bright vibrant color and seem to be used as bait. Luring other players into traps is almost a surefire way to take them out. It’s a case of “almost” because if you can build traps, other players can dismantle them. Where PUBG fails in creativity, Fortnite flourishes. Is a camping sniper bothering you? Lob a grenade at the corner of his building and bring it down!

Fortnite players are able to play the mode before Early Access rolls out on September 26th. Epic has stated that servers may fail at times and that there will be some snags. A code of conduct was posted for all players.

  • Respect other players. Be graceful in victory and defeat. Discriminatory language, hate speech, threats, spam, and other forms of harassment or illegal behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Play fairly and within the rules of the game. Don’t cheat, AFK, grief, exploit bugs or glitches, team up in groups larger than the game mode allows (e.g. in solo matches do not work with other players, respectfully kill them instead) or impersonate others.
  • Keep account information safe and private. Giving access to your account puts you at risk. Do not share your account information or the account information of others.
  • Good luck and have fun!

IGN uploaded an entire match of the new game mode. Be sure to check it out. What do you think of Fortnite‘s new mode? Will it be able to top the one million concurrent players that PUBG recently had?
