Incentives are the go-to strategy in this war.

To counter this issue, Epic Games has a series of tools they plan to roll out. One of these is account progression. In the next several weeks, players will begin to earn rewards for playing. This incentive is aimed primarily at casual cheaters. “Persistent trolls” will have other more extreme measures taken against them. Epic Games has “no plan to stop” in its war against cheating. Epic has urged players to report any cheating to their support website. They also urge players to include screenshots and videos if possible.

But there is still concern on the horizon for Epic.

Fortnite is currently celebrating seven million players worldwide, thus the ‘thousands’ of banned players make only a small dent in the popularity of the game. Yet this comes at a time where Bluehole, the developer of PlayerUnknown’s Battleground, is concerned about Fortnite and is “considering” taking action against it. Bluehole has noticed PUBG references in Epic’s promotions to community and press, a similarly constructed user interface, and an almost identical “structural replication”.
