FF7 Remake – Nuisance in the Factory Locked Door (Walkthrough – Guide)

Final Fantasy Vii Remake – Factory Walkthrough

I may not be an ultra-hardcore completionist, but I still like to thoroughly explore all the areas in a game. Well, if you’re like me, you may have found a locked door during FF7 Remake‘s Nuisance in the Factory sidequest.

(This quest is not included in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Demo)

I then proceeded to spend a good 15 minutes trying to figure out a way in. Well… there isn’t one. At least, not yet.

Where to Find the Key

Luckily, Cloud will be able to unlock the door during the follow-up sidequest, Just Flew In from the Graveyard. It unlocks immediately after you complete this Nuisance in the Factory, so there’s no point in sticking around. Just turn it in, and head back towards the Abandoned Factory to find the next sidequest.

Gwen, the quest giver, tells you that you’ll be able to find the key “hidden inside a wooden crate near the building”. It’s actually inside the building (more or less, though I spent a few minutes searching the perimeter). You may have already seen the wooden boxes inside the Factory. In fact, you might’ve already destroyed them all in a futile effort to find some sort of key during your first visit.

The wooden boxes I broke to find the key.

I’m not 100% sure if it spawns in the same crate every time or if it’s random, but I found it in the crates near the Potion vending machine in factory.

Once you have the key, just bring it to the door, and you’ll be able to fight the boss. Good luck!

I hope you didn’t spend nearly as long as I did searching for a way past that door! If you’re interested in another quick sidequest walkthrough for FF7 Remake, check out our Lost Friends guide!
