Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will release on the Nintendo Switch later this month with various new features including a retro mode for the entire main story. Of course, with all the recent fanfare the RPG series, Square Enix has decided to bring the original three games of the franchise to the hybrid console as well.
The company announced via Twitter that all three games will release digitally on September 27th, the same day as XI S. The eShop also lists each game for sale now, with Dragon Quest for $5, Dragon Quest 2: Luminaries of the Legendary Line for $6.50, and Dragon Quest 3: The Seeds of Salvation for $12.50.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that these will be direct ports of the original NES versions. Instead, the screenshots and text styles share similarities to the mobile ports on IOS and Android.
