Nintendo Finally Gets Some M-Rated Goodness
Bethesda’s classic shooter franchises, Doom and Wolfenstein, are making their way to the Nintendo Switch as revealed in today’s Nintendo Direct.
The very-much-needed M-Rated DOOM is coming to the console sometime this holiday. Nintendo did not reveal any further details on a release date. DOOM has three main modes: campaign, multiplayer, and SnapMap. During the Direct, there was nothing mentioned about the SnapMap feature. With the gameplay shown, it is unclear whether it was the Switch version or not.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is also coming to the portable console, albeit not until 2018. A promotional image was shown as well as the release window, but no gameplay. The game releases on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 27, 2017.
This comes as Skyrim gets ready for its release on November 7 on Switch. Could this mean other Bethesda games will be making their way to the Switch? Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, The Evil Within and Fallout 4 are prime candidates. Even eShop versions of the classic shooters could be possible.
Looks like I get to repurchase these games to have some portable violence! Watch the entire direct below.
