In an official blog post from R. Talsorian Games, it’s apparent that the table-top game Cyberpunk Red will be delayed.
Cyberpunk Red is set to be a prequel to CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. According to Polygon you can already sign up for the Cyberpunk Red jumpstart kit. It will apparently contain “all the lore needed to prepare you for Cyberpunk 2077.” You can also get a selection of miniature figures for the jumpstart set at the cost of $30.
The post from R. Talsorian games says:
“We’ll just come right out and say it. The TRPG industry got punched in the gut by the pandemic and there’s just no way we can release in June without compromising quality. We’re currently looking at summer’s end for a release but until the world calms down and things stop fluctuating, our crystal ball is full of fog.”
If you’ve got a hankering for some Cyberpunk tabletop action and celebrities playing it then you can check out industry Veteran Mike Pondsmith play an early version of the game with people here. Matthew Lillard – known for playing Shaggy, takes part. You’ll find it here.
If you enjoy what you see R. Talsorian Games tell you to keep and open mind about the finished product:
“Keep in mind, with both tonight’s chargen session and Mike’s game, nothing’s final until the book is at the printer. What you see might not be the final ruleset but it’ll still be a good preview and a fun time.”
