Bleach, a massively popular Shonen Jump anime, will finally get its last chapters animated in a 2021 return of the show. Earlier last week, Shonen Jump announced on their twitter that Bleach‘s final arc, the “Thousand-Year Blood War”, will get its own anime adaptation. This will finish up the last of the series, which consists of 686 manga chapters and 366 episodes. The final anime season will cover from chapters 480 until the end, which have not yet ever been adapted for anime. After a sudden cancellation of the Bleach anime in 2012, many fans are ecstatic to know that the anime will finally return to receive a proper ending.

Bleach follows protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki as he gains the powers of a Soul Reaper from Rukia Kuchiki, another Soul Reaper. He must then guide souls into the afterlife and defeat evil spirits, as well as become intertwined with the workings of the afterlife. While at first reluctant, Ichigo realizes that he must do what he can for those around him with his newfound powers and allies.
As well as the Bleach anime getting a continuation, another manga by same author Tite Kubo will also be getting an anime adaptation. Burn the Witch is a manga that takes place in the same universe as Bleach. But, it will take place 12 years after the final arc of the Bleach manga. It is set to be animated later this year.
