The year is 1868 and it is the end of the Industrial Revolution in the UK.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Stadia | Ubisoft (US)

Developed and published by Ubisoft, Watch Dogs: Legion is the third installment in the popular Watch Dogs series of games. Set in a dystopian London, the story of the game follows several hackers who are falsely accused of terrorist bombings. The game revolves around an open-world setting that is free to explore. There is a multiple number of characters which the player can control. The gameplay consists of driving, shooting, stealth and puzzle solving.

Watch Dogs: Legion gives the user an original and realistic way to play the game by enabling the option of permadeath before starting a new game. If this mode is enabled, then when any character dies, they will remain dead for the remaining duration of the game. The online part of the game allows four players to play through the game as a team.

Watch Dogs: Legion Online uses a season system that updates each month. As players compete in missions, they will rank up and unlock rewards including weapons skins, and clothing.

Vampyr

Vampyr review -- a dark, delicious night of the soul | VentureBeat

Here we have an action role-playing game which involves the player taking the role of Dr Jonathan E. Reid who was made into a vampire and roams the streets of London looking for the blood of victims. The game is set in post-World War 1 London in the year 1918.

Vampyr really allows you to immerse yourself in the life of Dr Reid. To level up as a vampire, you will need to drink blood, but it is possible to go through the whole game without killing any citizens and doing so unlocks one of four endings. Of course, we won’t spoil them for you here, but it really pays off to try and complete the game without killing anyone.

There have been many games based on vampires recently, from the Bloodsuckers slot to Vampire: The Masquerade. Vampyr was released to mixed reviews but we really enjoyed our time playing it.

Wolfenstein: The New Order

Save 67% on Wolfenstein: Youngblood on Steam

Have you ever imagined what London would look like if the Nazis successfully invaded British shored during World War Two? This is what Wolfenstein: The New Order gives you – an alternative history version of London under the occupation of the Third Reich! The Nazis dropped an atomic bomb on Manhattan to achieve victory. The player gets the opportunity to see what various cities around the world would look like under Nazi occupation.

This game won numerous awards and became the second best-selling game of 2014. Critics loved the re-imagined future and so did we. We recommend playing Wolfenstein: The New Order on the hardest difficulty so that you can really unveil the true brutality of the Nazi regime.

The Order: 1886

The Order: 1886 deserved a sequel even if the original wasn't great | GamesRadar+

Released in 2015 for the PS4, The Order: 1886 is set in an alternate-history London where werewolves and vampires roam freely. Your mission, as one of the Knights of the Round Table, is to battle to keep the world safe from such monstrous animals.

The game brings together a mixture of different historical events combined with fantasy and myth and the game certainly is fun. Unfortunately, there is no online aspect to The Order: 1886 which is unfortunate as we feel this game could have done with an Alien v Predator-type online multiplayer mode where there is a team of Knights versus a team of half-breed Vampires and Werewolves.

Uncharted 3

Review: Uncharted 3 is one of the best -- and most annoying -- games of the year | VentureBeat

We love action-adventure games here at CultureofGaming and without a doubt one of our favourite games of all time is Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception which takes the player to locations across the world including the United Kingdom.

Queen Elizabeth I and Sir Francis Drake feature heavily in the game’s main storyline as treasure hunter Nathan Drake searches for the lost city of Iram of the Pillars. However, it is also the multiplayer component that we are fond of. Unfortunately, the multiplayer servers have now been terminated but we highly recommend still checking out the single-player storyline if you haven’t already.
