It’s official. Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed again. The game’s Twitter has given reason for the delay, stating it is necessary in order to “iron out” any remaining bugs. Some speculate this delay is meant to coincide with the release of next-gen consoles. There must be Games to play while waiting for Cyberpunk?

Well luckily for you there’s plenty to do in the meantime. While you wait, it’s a good time to revisit some old classics or try something new. We’ve compiled a list of great cyberpunk-themed, sci-fi, or otherwise futuristic games to sink your teeth into. Whether you’re a fan of horror, stealth, survival, or action, there’s a cyberpunk game for you. This is our list of games to play while waiting for Cyberpunk 2077.
First on our list is Cloudpunk. In this futuristic action game, you play the role of Rania, a driver for a “semi-legal” delivery company called Cloudpunk. During your nightly drives, you’ll explore the city of Nivalis and the interesting characters within. You’ll face interesting moral dilemmas and have to make tough choices. There’s a lot to love about the visual design of this game too, especially if you want a Cyberpunk 2077 fix before November.
If you’re looking for more games with a cyberpunk style, Cloudpunk is a great place to start. With its open-world concept, you have so much to explore. Whether you travel via flying car or on foot, you’ll discover plenty of hidden places and stories. And, like any good game, the decisions you make will have an impact on the world.
However, if you’re a console gamer, you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer. Cloudpunk is currently only available for PC, but it will soon be released for Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
Next on our list is >observer_. Set in 2084 Krakow, Poland, >observer_ is a psychological horror game that puts you in the shoes of Detective Daniel Lazarski, also known as “Observer.” Using a device called the “Dream Eater,” you can hack into the neural implants of people of interest. Or suspects, as they’d be better called.
The game follows Lazarski on his search for his missing son, which eventually leads you to a sketchy apartment complex in the stacks. It is here that the story really takes off. After being locked inside the complex, you slowly begin to uncover a disturbing truth about reality.
If you love the cyberpunk aesthetic and horror, this is the game for you. The world of >observer_ is dark and intense and the technology only adds to it. The game is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
Third on our list is Ruiner, a top-down shooter set in 2091. The game takes place in a city known as Rengkok, controlled by a massive corporation called Heaven. You play as a masked protagonist who is searching for his kidnapped brother.
Combat is brutal and bloody. Luckily, you’ll have access to special abilities, upgrades, and technological tools that will make you unstoppable.
Ruiner is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
Invisible, Inc. is a turn-based tactic stealth game that takes place in the year 2074. In a world controlled by corporations, Invisible Inc. is a private intelligence agency that provides services for them.
You must infiltrate corporations, takedown defensive security systems, and navigate through a randomly generated world. According to the game’s website, “locations, threats, and loot are randomly generated so each playthrough is vastly different and you’ll never get complacent.”
The game also features 10 different unlockable agents, customizable strategies, five different game modes, and fully animated cutscenes and voiceovers. Invisible, Inc. is available on PC, Ps4, and Nintendo Switch.
Metro 2033 Redux
Last on our list of games to play while waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 is Metro 2033 Redux. It is a story-driven, first-person, survival horror shooter. The game takes place in the metro system of Moscow twenty years after a major cataclysmic event. Most of the earth is a wasteland and much of humanity has been wiped out. The earth’s surface is dangerous and the remaining humans live underground. You play as Artyom, who must venture to the heart fo the old metro in order to warn other surviving humans about an impending threat.
If the single Metro 2033 game isn’t enough for you, you can always get Metro: Redux, a double game collection. The collection features both Metro 2033 and its sequel Metro: Last Light. The Redux edition also offers two gameplay modes (Spartan and Survival), all DLCs, and several gameplay improvements. To see the full list of features, Deep Silver has listed them here.
Both Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Redux are available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
